Public Hearing Notice- Local Law No. D-2026 Overriding the Tax Levy limit on October 7, 2026, at 6:30 p.m
TOWN OF MARCELLUS
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that there has been presented to the Town Board of the Town of Marcellus, New York, on September 2, 2026, proposed Local Law No. D-2026 titled, “A Local Law Overriding the Tax Levy limit Established in General Municipal law §3-c in the Town of Marcellus.” Said Local Law, if enacted, would override the limit on the amount of real property taxes that may be levied by the Town of Marcellus, County of Onondaga pursuant to General Municipal Law §3-c, and to allow the Town of Marcellus to adopt a Town budget for (a) Town purposes; (b) fire protection districts; and (c) any other special or improvement district governed by the Town Board for the fiscal year 2027, that requires a real property tax levy in excess of the “tax levy limit” as defined by the General Municipal Law §3-c. The full text of said Local Law is on file at the Town Clerk’s Office at the Town Hall located at 22 East Main Street, Marcellus, New York for inspection by all interested persons.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that on September 2, 2026, the Town Board determined that this proposed Local Law is an unlisted action pursuant to the State Environmental Quality Review Act and a negative declaration was adopted at that time.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Town Board will hold a public hearing to consider proposed Local Law No. D-2026 at the said Town Hall on October 7, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, at which time all persons interested will be heard.
